Originally the Springfield Presbyterian Church, the century-old Springfield Improvement Association and Archives building is the perfect place for quaint wedding. And it’s the first stop on our tour of Jacksonville wedding venues. With space for up to 100 people, this building has been carefully restored to preserve its ambiance. It has polished wood flooring, with a real cathedral ceiling, and an understated decor with a hint of Victorian style.

Just a short distance from downtown, North Main Street, and Interstate 95, it is easy to reach from any part of Jacksonville or the surrounding areas. The fountain and gardens make a beautiful background for perfect wedding photographs.

Rental fees are: Fridays or Saturdays — $802.50; Sundays — $642.00; Monday through Thursday — $588.50. They have a Bridal Special for a Friday and Saturday Rental — $1,203.75. It can also be rented hourly, but holiday pricing is excluded, so you’ll need to call for rates if you plan to marry on a special day.

Rentals for the City of Jacksonville’s Dolphin Plaza Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park start at a minimum of 4 hours for $1,112.80. Reservations may be made up to a year in advance. Max capacity is 125 people. The minimum charge for using Dolphin Plaza is $1,112.80 ; $53.50 cleanup fee, $909.50 rental fee (rental of building), and a minimum of 4 hours $149.80 at $37.45 per hour per employee, except holidays and as long as an employee is identified to service as a turnkey. These fees are due when you make the reservation.

The turnkey and clean-up fees are non-refundable, even with notice more than 30 days in advance of event. Because the City of Jacksonville does not allow alcohol into city parks, the Recreation and Community Services has come up with a permit that will allow alcohol at certain functions under certain circumstances.

The Haskell Building

Riverfront Cafe and Catering, run by Karen Fritts, serves weddings at The Haskell Building in downtown Jacksonville. With a balcony overlooking the St. John’s River, the building also has a grand hall and a fountain out front.

Rental fee for the building is as follows: Monday thru Friday $975.00, Saturday and Sunday $1,500.00 for the reception and $200.00 for the wedding ceremony if the ceremony is onsite. Fees include use of tables, linens, china and 100 chairs for the reception.

Their capacity is 275 guests for a cocktail reception, with seated space for 150-200. Staff is additional, as well as a 20% service charge based on food and beverage only. She will customize a menu specifically designed for your event and has Sample Wedding Menus: A Formal Affair and The Unforgettable Affair, as well as sample menus on her website of Displays, Spreads, Dips and Pate, Canapes, Meat Trays, Salads and Desserts.
